This is it.....Now it all over. I don't think that i will really be doing any more blogging for a while. it was a nice experience that Mr.Donohue opened my eyes to. Doing this assignment I learned to be a little more open minded and how to voice my opinion a a clear and direct way. I did not exactly meet every deadline but got done what was expected of me.

I had a lot of fun blogging because i got to post my ideas and concepts on the Internet and have every one read them. Also because i got to read my class mates ideas as well. I really do not share a lot of the same interests as the other students in my class, but reading what they have to say shows my the other side to opinions and to new ideas in general. i might start up another blog and make it my own personal one with no guidelines or rules, so every one be on the look out for that. So I wish ever one who took the time to read my blog good luck in the future with what ever they decide to do. This Is Michael Ramirez Aka Mikey Visa Signing out for the last time. Congratulations High School of Sports management....I Will Make every One proud.

The year book was not what everyone expected to see, but it was amazing. the book was filled with pictures and words all related to the high school of sports management. Now that it is the final day I was trying to have as many people as possible sign the pages ass possible but there was a lot that was going on to day. Every one was trying to spend a little more time with their friends and make the day last a little longer. I have never seen 2:20 come around so fast. On normal days it would never come fast enough.

When I look back and read my year book I will have mostly nothing but pleasant memories of my time spent at this high school. People were more than willing to give me some form of way to stay in contact with them. I got a few screen names , phone numbers, my spaces and email addresses of people that i knew.

There has been times where I didn't know if i would be able to stick it out and graduate because people were asking too much from me, but the people who were most important always supported me when it counted. that I believe is what got me through the tough times and now it is all paying off.

The final day has come and it seems like the end of the seniors at the high school of sports management. The attendance was pretty low for 2 day,but spirits were high. Some students did More work 2 day than they have done all year. For others it was a day of saying goodbyes and getting people to sign your yearbook. It just all seems to have gone by so fast right in front of my face. I did not spend my entire four years at the high school of sports management but it is for sure the place that I learned the most.

The times that I spent at school weren't always the greatest, But they were my times and I can never take them back. As I look back things were not as bad as i always made them seem. The staff is fun and friendly as well as the students. The high school of sports management has been my second home even before i realized it.

As I walked out of the main exit for the almost last time I thought about all of my classmates and if i will ever run into any of them again. I DEFINITELY will remember my peers as i take my life to the next stage. I hope that they will only remember me as their peer and a respectable person.

What these four years meant.

These last four years have been the hardest years so far. All the work I've had to put in to make sure I stay at my best. As I move forward in my life I'm starting to realize what this meant for me . Was it all just play or did I put in the time and effort that has brong me to this. I felt that although I had so little to give I would raise to the challenge and better myself in more ways then one. To my surprise I did just that and more. Some nights I stayed up late just to study for a test I knew I would pass. Sooner then I know I will be closing this chapter of my life and starting a new one. I cant say this hasnt been the best cause it has I just cant wait to open the next chapter.

Seems now that almost every one is a blogger. Since Mr.Donohue has given his students an assignment on blogging, the most visited site on the schools laptops http://www.blogger.com/. Students must create a GMail account and them make a blogger account with their own personalized URL. The hardest part about this assignment is to really stick to the topic and have enough to write about. When told instructions on how long to make each post Mr. D said to write for about 20 minutes on each. This was an assignment that was not 2 difficult at all if you balanced the time that you had to do the assignment with the amount of work. Some students decided to save all of the work for the last minute. The other day I was in Mr. Donohue's room trying to catch up on some of my work and it was lunch at sixth period and his class was more full of students trying to work than it had ever been. I my self had already been in his class second period and fifth as well just typing until my fingers started to hurt. Over all I believe that this was a excellent assignment that actually put the students to work because our blogs a on the world wide web and available for reading and comments from the public. This assignment opened the door to a whole wave of next generation blogger.

The time has finally come for the high school of sports management to have its first graduation class ever. The graduation ceremony will be held on the field on June 25. It seems kind of weird because the first place we would think it would be is in the auditorium or the gym. Hope that every thing looks nice and goes smoothly because it could rain and ruin everything. The word on da block is that the students don't really care about the location as long as their family and friends can come and attend. Some are almost a little nervous because we did not have any graduation practice at all. No one is going to know where to go how to stand and how to walk. Word going around is that Mr. Beetie is going to play the piano as the seniors walk to get their diplomas. Not too much talk of who is going to be there of significant status, but every one is expecting more that a few words from Ms. Pitts.

AAAhhhhh... A Little Relief

Take a deep breath and take in some sun as the dress code at the high school of sports management has gone with the school year. Now that it is the final few days of school the administration has decide that it is to late and to hot to be whereing black and white any more. The students feel more like a high school than ever even though it is so late in the school year. Do not get the story twisted...... there are still rules about hats and large belt buckles just a lot of stress off of tucked in shirts and sneakers.Every thing seems to be running fine at the school now except for the few students rushing to finish their last assignments. It is a lot easier to focus in the hot weather not having to where those hot black pants that seem to make walking up the stairs fitness gram with Mr. Benson.

Students feel now that they can express them selves through their clothes once again. Some are showing up on the most expensive clothes that I have seen in a high school and others are rocking white T-shirts. No matter what they are whereing they feel like them selves. To be honest the uniform policy is not to bad to deal with, but there are a few things wrong with it that students do not like. For one students don't like to be told that they can and can not do as well as what they can where . Whereing a nice white shirt and black pants is nice ONCE and a WHILE, but every day is a no go. Also students don't feel that it is something that they have to respect because there are only so many other schools where they have uniform and they really don't grasp the concept of a uniform makes us all look UNIFORM as a whole.

To Field day Or not to Field Day

In the past field day was held at Kiaser Park located on Neptune and west 25 st in Coney Iland, but this year the event was moved to long Island. Many students were up for the change, but many rejected leaving the place of the first field day in the school short history. It seems that while everyone complained about the condition of the old building it seemed to have a warm at home type of feeling, well maybe to me because it was around da corner from my house. The school was l0cated on west 19 street between Mermaid and Neptune, so the walk to the park was short and sweet. Friends walked with their companions as the smell of the sand and salt breezed under every ones nose. The park wasn't the cleanest or the biggest in Brooklyn, but many students were familiar with the area, knew their way home and felt safe as well as comfortable.

The school was alot smaller at the times of field day in Coney Island, so that means a smaller amount of students as well as staff. Now the High School of Sports Management has somewhat expanded and has moved to a new location on Benson Ave. This brings about more opportunity of accidents and harder to watch over all students at all times. A whole bunch of students did not want to take part in the entire event because of the changes. the students that did attend were freshman, sophomores and some juniors because the seniors are the minority in the building they were the least in numbers.

Prom....never heard of it

Prom has come and prom had passes, but prom will never come again for the students at the high school of sports management. Students didn't really seem excited the days before the event only talk of who was going with who and who was not attending. A good hand full of students saw the prom as a waste of money because there are hardly any girls in the graduating class and the tickets were over priced. I my self felt similar because it is not really my crowd of people. That money i feel could be put to better use.

"280 dollars for me and my girl to go party, no thanks" said a senior who wishes to remain name less. The price is not really the main issue but i as a student did not feel welcome with open arms. I felt a slight bit of pressure to where the most expensive suit that i could buy and spend more money than i have, just not to be the worst dressed. I really don't speak with alot of the students that were attending because there is nothing to talk about. if i was to have gone it would have been for the purpose of showing my girlfriend a good time. The problem with this is that i would not want to bring my woman around some of the animals that i go to school with because they would definitely say smart remarks and look at her beauty all night. I don't need that situation at this point in the year because all that i want to do now is graduate. School is coming to a close and all of the hard work done by all of students will show if they put in the effort.

Real un equal and irational...... word on da block has its eyes and ears on the halls, the gym, classrooms and the gym. The only way to desribe the status of the social structure has to be something I learned about in Ms. Zurrok's fifth period pre calc class. The term is real unequal and irrational, this is used when describing the roots of function. Don't get the story twisted, the school has a highly trained staff ready and willing to tranfer knowlage to students, but the problem comes from with in the student body. The school is divided into many clicks that stick together until problems arise and few are traded or droped as free agents. There are few loners and gangbangers keep low key. Hey I don't sayit, I just play it. Anyway these so called clicks assoite with in themselfs to abtain what ever day to day life requires and rarley deeply make moves with out the group. Some groups have more status than others and some have problems with others group. I myself am part of one of the elite clicks in the school and also the minority...the hispanics aka the spanyerds aka the guallas aka the putericans. In respects I am considered the leader or the head honcho of my squad. Unlike in other squads I have mobility to assoiate with majority of students and remain faithful to my team. This unique skill is what I belive seperates me from many other groups and the ir leaders. Back to the topic, some clickes have feelings tward others that are based on the wrong reasons. The hispanics are not the most liked click in the school, but at the same time one of the most respected.

Watch Out Around Da Corner

Times at the High School of sports management are moving faster than everyone expected. Word on Da Block is that if graduation were tomorrow that there would only be a total of 14 students in the first graduating class of the High School of Sports Management. This is due to an extremely bad case of "Senior-itous" that has been spreading rapidly. Seniors that were once in the elite few are failing classes and cutting out early. Graduation is only 37 days from this current minute and is right around da corner.

Another student that had a rap sheet of cutting entire weeks at a time, is using the recent outbreak or "Senior-itous" to his advantage by attending and participating in all of his classes. This student will remain nameless for now due to privacy circumstances and he could not afford any distractions if he wants to graduate on time. All that I can say is that this student is close to me and is doing what he has to do despite his history and what people expect of him. I Am not sure of his exact average but I have confirmed that all of his classes are passed with a 65 or better. Word on da block is that the future is coming around da corner faster that expected, but the question is will each of the students at the school be able to speedup as well.

Lock Down On Da Block

Lets start with the crummy school called the High school of sports management. It seems like all of the choices that we were told that we would have in high school have been taken away. The dress code seems to put a limit in our self expression. As you look down the hall, a sea of black and white figures comes flooding at your eyes. The faces on these students says it all. No one looks like they are even thinking about having any sort of fun. As if the dress code was made so that it would break our spirits. I know that school is a place business but it is hard to maintain focus with a shirt that has a collar after and intense gym period. The summers are mega hot and the black pants are scientifically proven to attract heat.

Da word on da block is that security at the high school of sports management is getting an upgrade. Not in a sense of reducing fights and cutting but enforcing uniform policy. I feel that is is to late in the year to make any significant changes to the daily routine. Word on da block is no half stepping on this movement by the staff as they have appointed people to stand down in the lunch room and outside to deny students who fail to attend on time and in full uniform. This is a unnecessary precaution because it will tend to make students believe that once turned away that they are not welcome back into the school building and that uniform is a legit excuse to miss school. Most students don't come in full uniform, but have on black and white with a pair of sneakers that are also not allowed. I will continue to inform the public of the word on da block as the news comes in.
